Comfortable. Beautiful. Support. - Plus Size Women and a Properly Fitting Bra
We see many plus size women visiting the store requesting a bra fitting by a certified fitter. They are also looking for a plus size bra that is comfortable, beautiful and offers great support for their needs.
I must say that as a fitter of both bras and breast forms that plus size woman face more challenging issues. The bra chosen must be one that offers more support in the cup and the band. If the band is incorrect the breast tissue will slip underneath the bra and the bra will rub across the tissue. The construction of the bra must be of good supportive material, often with a seam, so that complete support is offered. Too many women are wearing bras that are stretched out and have lost their shape and ability to provide the support needed. The weight of the breast pushes and pulls forward, thus putting pressure on the shoulders and back which can affect the posture. Our secret is the correct band and cup size to ensure comfort, coverage and stability. Come see us with any questions you may have. We would love to fit you in a perfectly fitted bra. 800.497.7005 www.SusansSpecialNeeds.com

Breast Cancer: How to select the right breast form for you.
One of our new clients asked a great question the other day. How do I select the right breast form for me. Everyone is a different size with different needs from different surgeries?
Most importantly the process of fitting a breast form is dependent on a trained and certified breast form fitter. It is impossible to order products out of a catalog without actually trying them on. If bras and breast forms are not fit correctly you will be wearing inappropriate and uncomfortable products which can lead to a lack of self esteem, self confidence and poor posture.
The secret to a good breast form fitting is the fit of the bra. The bra must fit correctly in the band and cup thus allowing the fitter to choose the form that is best to create balance and symmetry. All breast forms are different. The fitter must asses the chest wall, and try on forms that will conform to the back of the chest wall at the mastectomy site. The form chosen, should reflect size, shape and drape of the remaining breast. With bilateral surgeries the forms should compliment the rest of the body size and shape. Using the correct bra will allow us as fitters to ensure a correct snug fit of the forms against the chest wall. If you have questions, feel free to contact me for guidance. 800.497.7005 www.SusansSpecialNeeds.com
